Emergency Eye Clinic
At Eric Mercer's, we are delighted to offer an accredited Emergency Eyecare service. This is part of a new NHS-funded referral scheme called NI PEARS. It recognizes the role of specially trained optometrists as the first port of call for eye problems.
This means that if you develop a "red eye" or other sudden eye complaint, you can have it assessed urgently in our practice instead of having to attend hospital A&E or your GP surgery. As well as offering greater convenience for you, the PEARS scheme helps free up GP and hospital appointments for other cases.

If you experience any of the above signs or symptoms, simply give us a call. We will offer you an emergency appointment for expert assessment - free of charge under the NHS. |
Using our specialized equipment and skills, we are well placed to diagnose and treat most minor eye conditions in our practice. However, should your problem turn out to be more serious, we can refer you directly to Eye Casualty or the Hospital Eye Service.
